Nursery Lot & Retail Associate

As a Garden Center Associate, you will assist customers in selecting plants, gardening supplies, and outdoor decor. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the appearance of the garden center, providing expert advice on plant care and landscaping, and ensuring customer satisfaction through exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist customers in selecting plants, gardening tools, soil, and outdoor decor.

2. Provide expert advice on plant care, including watering, fertilizing, and pest control.

3. Maintain the appearance of the garden center by watering plants, arranging displays, and organizing merchandise.

4. Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately.

5. Answer customer inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email.

6. Unload deliveries and restock shelves as needed.

7. Participate in seasonal promotions and sales events.

8. Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe shopping environment for customers and staff.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience in retail, horticulture, or customer service preferred.

2. Knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and landscaping principles.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

5. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

6. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.

7. Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy items and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

8. Passion for gardening and a desire to share knowledge with customers.

9. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in horticulture is a plus.

Full Time Seasonal employees must be willing to work 30-60 hours per week.

Part Time Seasonal employees much be willing to work 20-40 hours per week.
